Without a doubt, the view from the castle. Really breath-taking
If you don’t mind stairs, and you don’t need an over, this would work for anyone! Well-places and well-furnished
The stairs are steep, and paved with mosaic tiles, which are pretty, but still a rigorous climb. The last step up into the apartment is a steep one. A 72 year old, with bad knees, and a 50K suitcase could do this without help (But she didn’t like it.) There is no microwave or oven. You can’t drive into up to the entrance (It’s in a pedestrian-only zone.) so dropping luggage means parking and putting flashers on and doing a 10 minute quick transfer of suitcases, which with these steps is not the easiest of tasks. Paid parking is not too far off. Free parking is at least a ten minute walk away, and occasionally hard to find. The second bedroom is 1) much smaller and 2) must go through the first bedroom to get to any other room. It functions best as a child’s room.

Uzes is a uniquely liveable town, whose crown jewel is it’s central Place Aux Herbes. Equally memorable is the Duchy d’Uzes (the duke’s castle) which you can view from outside your bedroom window. Exquisite architecture, eminently walkable, superb nature nearby, a mix of old & new residents. Only major minus: no train, buses dependable but limited schedules.
